Only 3 Words and Prayer Reminder

Concise is good!

Got this email from David Livingstone:

Only 3 Words!!!

There are many things that you can do to strengthen your
relationships. Often the most effective thing you can do involves
saying just three words. When spoken sincerely, these statements
often have the power to develop new friendships, deepen old ones and
even bring healing to relationships that have sourerd.

The following three-word phrases can be tools to help develop
every relationship.

1.Let me help
Good friends see a need and then try to fill it. When they
see a hurt they do what they can to heal it. Without being asked,
they jump in and help out.

2. I understand you.
People become closer and enjoy each other more when the other
person accepts and understands them. Letting your spouse know - in
so many little ways - that you understand them, is one of the most
powerful tools for healing your relationship. And this can apply to
any relationship.

3. I respect you
Respect is another way of showing love. Respect demonstrates
that another person is a true equal. If you talk to your children
as if they were adults you will strengthen the bonds and become
closer friends. This applies to all interpersonal relationships.

mouse.webby.com

4. I miss you.
Perhaps more marriages could be saved and strengthened if
couples simply and sincerely said to e! ach other "I miss you." This
powerful affirmation tells partners they are wanted, needed, desired
and loved. Consider how important you would feel, if you received
an unexpected phone call from your spouse in the middle of your
workday, just to say "I miss you."

5. Maybe you're right.
This phrase is very effective in diffusing an argument. The
implication when you say "maybe you're right" is the humility of
admitting, "maybe I'm wrong". Let's face it. When you have an
argument with someone, all you normally do is solidify the other
person's point of view. They, or you, will not likely change their
position and you run the risk of seriously damaging the
relationship between you. Saying "maybe you're right" can open the
door to explore the subject more. You ma! y then have the opportunity
to express your view in a way that is understandable to the other
person.

6. Please forgive me
Many broken relationships could be restored and healed if
people would admit their mistakes and ask for forgiveness. All of us
are vulnerable to faults, foibles and failures. A man should never
be ashamed to own up that he has been in the wrong, which is saying,
in other words, that he is wiser today than he was yesterday.

7. I thank you.
Gratitude is an exquisite form of courtesy. People who enjoy
the companionship of good, close friends are those who don't take
daily courtesies for granted. They are quick to thank their friends
for their many expressions of kindness. On the other hand, people
whose circle of frie! nds is severely constricted often do not have
the attitude of gratitude.

8. Count on me
A friend is one who walks in when others walk out. Loyalty is
an essential ingredient for true friendship. It is the emotional
glue that bonds people. Those that are rich in their relationships
tend to be steady and true friends. When troubles come, a good
friend is there indicating "you can count on me."

9. I'll be there
If you have ever had to call a friend in the middle of the
night, to take a sick child to hospital, or when your car has broken
down some miles from home, you will know how good it feels to hear
the phrase "I'll be there." Being there for another person is the
greatest gift we can give. When we are truly present for other
people, i! mportant things happen to them and us. We are renewed in
love and friendship. We are restored emotionally and spiritually.
Being there is at the very core of civility.

10. Go for it
We are all unique individuals. Don't try to get your friends
to conform to your ideals. Support them in pursuing their
interests, no matter how far out they seem to you. God has given
everyone dreams, dreams that are unique to that person only. Support
and encourage your friends to follow their dreams. Tell them to "go
for it."

B o n u s : 11. I love you
Perhaps the most important three words that you can say.
Telling someone that you truly love them satisfies a person's
deepest emotional needs. The need to belong, to feel appreciated and
! ;to be wanted. Your spouse, your children, your friends and you, all
need to hear those three little words: "I love you." Love is a
choice. You can love even when the feeling is gone.

12. GOD BLESS YOU!
(These are 3 words too, right?)

THE FIVE FINGER PRAYER

1. Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved one is as C.S. Lewis once said, a "sweet duty."

2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.

4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain . They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.

5. And, lastly comes our little finger; the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, "The least shall be the greatest among you." Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively. If you decide to send this to a friend, you might brighten someone's day!

Showing off...

I am gonna show off my humble room. It tells a lot bout me.

It is used to be my sister's room. After my sister left US for study, I colonize it and after me coming back from India, I decided to "renovate" it to suit me.

Knowing that I will grow very fat in future, I merge 2 beds into one...

..and place a queen size, infra-red jade mattress over it to make it harder. This is to prevent back pain when I grow old.

Explore, Search and Discover

Google Earth puts a planet's worth of imagery and other geographic information right on your desktop.

I knew the existence of this program, Google Earth quite long ago but I didn't download it straight away because I thought ( first) my 5 year old 800MHz AMD Athlon can't support it, and (second), it must be (as usual) only limited to USA only.

The good news is, I was completely wrong. Google Earth run smoothly on my DSL connected computer.

Found Puchong Chinese SDA House Church, the church I attend weekly:

Found my house in Taman Muda, Cheras:

Not every part of the world you can see it clearly. I try some more ulu place. Vellore, a small town in India. Found it... but.. its too blur. Can't see anything but a patch of grey area.

a letter

Dear A,

Thanks for your email. I really appreciate your words of encouragement. I really thank God for people like you. God send friends to me when I need them ( or when He knows that I need them).

I am sorry for the late reply. I had some problem with my dial up and hence i end up cancel it. So, I register DSL service. It took one week to get it all installed, brought modem.. etc.. and now, get connected.

I do have doubts. I do wonder. I do beg God. but recently, God shows me His blessing.
I came back from India, and decided that I need to have a job. I apply to become a teacher. I tried every school near my place. But unable to get any job. To be honest, I feel down and useless. Seems to me that everything I attempted is failure. After that feeling, my mum suggested me that, why dont you try a school about 2km from my house. I refused. I told my mum, i gave up. But anyway, i went reluctantly, just because my mum suggested it. I talk to the Penolong Kanan in a very relucatant way. I am not even interested in wanting the Job. But the Penolong Kanan was very happy and excited that I am willing to help. She asked me to come on the next day. I got the job.

The school is the lousy. Students were not motivated to study, Discipline level is low.. Teaching is challenging. But I always ask God for strength. and He gave. I taught for already pass 3 weeks. Many interesting story to tell. and His divine blessing and miracle.

I have alot of complains to the Lord. really alots. but God didnt answer immediately. He usually take time. time. time.time. time.time.. and honestly, I hate waiting. I guess all he wanted is to teach me how to wait. like how Moses waited 40 years in the wilderness.

To sum up. I am forced to confess the Lord has been and always good to me.

With love grace and peace,
Isaac

Angel Reinforcements

Not written by me:

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and
over all the power of the enemy. Luke 10:19.

Fallen man is Satan's lawful captive. The mission of Christ was to
rescue him from the power of his great adversary. Man is naturally
inclined to follow Satan's suggestions, and he cannot successfully
resist so terrible a foe unless Christ, the mighty Conqueror, dwells in
him, guiding his desires, and giving him strength. God alone can limit
the power of Satan. . . . Satan knows better than God's people the power
that they can have over him when their strength is in Christ. When they
humbly entreat the mighty Conqueror for help, the weakest believer in
the truth, relying firmly upon Christ, can successfully repulse Satan
and all his host. . . .

Satan will call to his aid legions of his angels to oppose the advance
of even one soul, and, if possible, wrest it from the hand of Christ. .
. . But if the one in danger perseveres, and in his helplessness casts
himself upon the merits of the blood of Christ, our Saviour listens to
the earnest prayer of faith, and sends a reinforcement of those angels
that excel in strength to deliver him. Satan cannot endure to have his
powerful rival appealed to, for he fears and trembles before His
strength and majesty. At the sound of fervent prayer, Satan's whole host
trembles.

Nothing but Christ's loving compassion, His divine grace, His almighty
power, can enable us to baffle the relentless foe, and subdue the
opposition of our own hearts. What is our strength? The joy of the Lord.
Let the love of Christ fill our hearts, and then we shall be prepared to
receive the power that He has for us. . . .

Beholding Christ for the purpose of becoming like Him, the seeker after
truth sees the perfection of the principles of God's law, and he becomes
dissatisfied with everything but perfection. . . . A battle must be
fought with the attributes that Satan has been strengthening for his own
use. . . . But he knows that with the Redeemer there is saving power
that will gain for him the victory in the conflict. The Saviour will
strengthen and help him as he comes pleading for grace and efficiency.

teaching-2

Teaching is good. Lack of energy at the end of the week. The student is weak, and most of them lack of interest in studies. They had given up hope. The pay, salary is low ( below general labour pay). I nearly deprive of motivation to teach them.

However, this Saturday off had rejuvenated me. Thank God for that. I regain the energy. Someone in church had given a testimonial that how a dedicated teacher had changed his life. He is used to be in the last class and given up in studies. But now he is an interior designer. That really motivate me to go on.

I thank God for all His divine blessing and guardians. His name only we should glorify.

Isaac

teaching

Last Friday, I reached Malaysia and today I found myself a teacher in a secondary school. Yesterday, I walk-in to a ulu school and ask for job. Actually, i wanted to teach science subject ( where I am good at it), but the school keep insist me to teach English because they really lack of English teacher. Me? English? my english is not that good after all. How can I teach? the school doesnt even border to look at my documents or sijil and assure that I will be teaching well. ?? !!!???

Okay, I give a try.

Today 7.30am, I enter a form 4 class. It is a last class and those students are abit rebellious and rowdy( not all). 100%boys. And guess what?, they can't even understand simple english. And more, they doesnt have any interest in learning. Knowing that my "disability", I tell myself not to smile and be serious. I try to be fierce and try to be fussy on petty petty things. I taught them how to greet me properly and cant tolerate disrespectfulness. (not me at all!!! i got a hard time acting it out!). I want them to greet me this when i enter the class:

Good morning, Mr Chan! We are so pleased to meet you! I want to learn English!

and

Thank You, Mr Chan!, We are looking forward to see you again!

I make them greet me over and over again until i am satisfy.
okay, me the dictator, says LK. haha

actually, I am timid too.. hehe but I am not afraid from being fired:
1) the students actually enjoys it, they love the minitary style method. I didnt humilate anyone.
2) this class, most teacher have given up on them. I ask a senior teacher for suggestion how to help those student, they reply : If you just can control the class, then you should be proud.

But i believe it is more than that. It is not just controling the class but to help them to at least be literate.

It is really interesting to be a teacher. Especially, when you see tru the eyes of your students. You never know what is their future.

ps: gimme idea how to teach english better.

Food

Ahh.... tired of indian food liao. Initially, I love it.. but unlike Malaysian food, Indian food lack of varation. It is just the Masala and spices that give power to the food.

Well actually, I do something also. I make char bihun, with low sodium but high cholestrol. Good for hypertension patient but bad for the heart...???

We do have a great time! cooking! and guess what? what a great success! No one reported to be suffered from acute lau sai syndrome.. Thank God for that!
[those that join the dinner: Uncle (Dr) Roger & Auntie Marcia ( US Missionaries), Daiyalan (short, dark and handsome indian friend), plus Malaysians: Wai See,Wei Xin, Zi Jing, Sze Ning, Jaiya, En Ze.]

And News?

We were still waited for the CMC result anxiously.

CMC, (Christian Medical College) is unaided from the India government. It is supported by many organization around the world, mainly by the Christian organization. But this college is affliated to a India Government University.

By God's grace, and many of the selfless effort of the college faculty, the CMC became one of the best medical college in India. I heard that recently, it is pioneering bone marrow transplant.

CMC is all while independantly selecting its own recruiting candidate by the process of entrance examination and interview. The ultimate aim is to select candidate that willing to serve in mission field after graduating.

However the Tamil Nadu(the state in India) govt is not that happy about this way. They argue that CMC is affliated to the India Govt and the Govt should be given the right in selection of students to CMC. And hence for past many years ( i think 7 years) the Govt had been sueing CMC over this matter.

Fortunately, all the while CMC had been able and independently able to select their own students. But this year, this case had been appealed to the Supreme Court ( the Highest Court) and the court case is very fierce. CMC spends alots of money on one of Indian best lawyer.

If CMC lost the case, CMC lost the right to select their student and both Jiwan and I will peacefully come back home to Malaysia.

The court case is going on, and that is why I do not really know the result yet.

I am now still staying in Dr Roger's house waiting for the result. :)

india

Dear Friends,

How do you do? I am sorry for not keep in touch such a long time. This
is because I didn't have much chance to access to the Internet. I am
now in India, Vellore. I reached Chennai (Madras), India on
Wednesday, 29 June from KLIA. Jiwan and I reached the India Airport at
night. Wilson was there receiving us. Wilson is Malaysian, from my
church, currently studying in Christian Medical College. My first
impression on India is better than I imagined. The building, car, etc
are somewhat old fashion, but it is okay. Since, it is at night, I
didn't manage to see much. But the traffic was scary. The (taxi)
driver drove like F1, sounding horn for every 15 seconds. And
according to Wilson (Malaysian studying there), this is NORMAL!!!???
Well, I tell myself, welcome to India. We stayed in Pastor Samuel
house in Chennai. Room is clean and everything is fine.

Food

I was so paranoid that more than half of my baggage from Malaysia to
India is food. I was nearly fined more than RM100++ by the MAS for my
baggage excess limit. But when I reached India, I loved the food a
lot. Till today, I haven't YET any food poisoning problems. And till
today, I didn't touch the food I brought from Malaysia except 1 pack
of Maggie mee. Of course Wilson warned us not to "simply" eat and
drink only bottle water. We spent a lot on water and eating only in
hotel. A 2 little bottle water cost Rs180 (less than RM 1.80) and a
meal in hotel per person cost about RM 6. That was expensive because
1) we eat at "high" class hotel and 2) the cost of living in Chennai
is relatively high. But now, currently in Vellore, the cost permeal is
about than RM2.

Blessing from India

The trip to India were indeed a blessing. The streets were dirty and
beggers (including children and women) were everywhere. The weather
was hot and dry and dusty. I saw people living in slumps. They lived
beside black river; beside rubbish dump, where pigs eat those rubbish
and at the same ground where the children's "playground". It was a
pathetic sight and I feel very depress. But the people were nice and
friendly there. Seldom, people cheat you. I heard from Wilson, even
tho people were poor there, they share all what they have to their
neighbours. Really something for me to ponder.

Water

Water…precious there.. talking about digging more well in search of
water…(unheard in Malaysia)

Church (in vellore)

I enjoyed the church service. ….VERYVERYVERYVERYVERY much!!! It is
like a great big family which makes us feel at home. I just loved
them.

Christian Medical College. (vellore)

From Chennai, we took a 3 hour to Vellore by train. In Vellore, we
stayed in Dr Roger's house. Dr Roger is a American missionary, SDA
works in CMC. His house is cozy and Mrs Roger prepare our meal. It is
delicious.

July4, we registered at CMC for the interview. We were surprised that
most wanna-to-be students were so-and-so's son and they were India's
best students. I do feel a little intimidated. I heard from a source
that there are more than 14,000 people wrote the entrance exam and
only 160 were called. I really realized that the reason I called for
interview is indeed not my effort but it is our beloved God's divine
grace and blessing. I was so stressed up because they will only select
60 students. Wilson was all the while our brother. He keep remind us
to trust in God and He will give us the BEST. I prayed and asked the
Lord's will for my life and ask Him to show it to me. If I am out,
then I am out. After prayer, I feel a lot better. I am more confident
knowing that everything is in control and under His hands.

The first day of interview is just bible test, physical and medical
check up, and some paper writing. The second and third day, we were
totally scrutinized. We had a lot of session of interview and some
other test or task. I did my best except the group discussion test. I
didn't have the chance to talk anything there.

The problem

For past 10 years CMC was sued by the India government because CMC
refuse to let the India Government to choose students to study at CMC.
This time, the case was fought (and still fighting) at the Supreme
Court of India (the highest court). This time, the case is the hottest
of all. Everything is uncertain. If CMC lose the case, means that all
candidates had to go home disappointed. This is why, CMC refuse to
release the result of the outcome of the interview. I will only know
if I get selected or not until the case is done.

Support

It is not easy. But I am not worry because I am confident that He will
direct my path. I believe that He loves me and He will give me the
Best. To fail or to pass, is not me to worry but God who worries it.
I know you are praying for me. I really appreciate that and I can not
thank you more for that.

Okay, guess now is lunch time. Got to go now. Will email you more… (If
got the chance)…

I wish you all the best and God bless you

Kisses,
Isaac

"Honey, you kuai kuai at home, I make more $$$!"

check it out:
Married men earn more if wives do the chores?

"Married men earn more than bachelors so long as their wives stay at home doing the housework, according to a report Wednesday from Britain's Institute for Social and Economic Research (ISER)."

~~interesting, huh?

message undelivered?

Christianity promotes that GOD IS LOVE. And hence, He will be the first one to answer our prayers!

I have written about prayer in my previous post.

problem:

I pray to the loving God for XXXXX for along time and earnestly. But, seems no reply. God refuses to answer my prayer.

Yes?

My limited and simple brain cells can generate of 2 reasons why our prayers seems unanswered:

1st: refuse to obey

bible says : "If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear" (Ps.66:18)

iniquity means sin or wrong doing and Sin is define as unwilling to obey God.

the reason is simple: How can you go against God and still ask Him for a favor?

So, now, I hated God and rebelled against Him, what should I do?

Good News:

1Jo 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

2nd : God is smarter

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts" (Is.558-9)

You see, God is so much smarter than us that, He thinks differently than us. He loves us and always wanted to give the best to us. He listens to our prayers, but some times, we ask for something that is not good for us. So, God refuse to gives and He answers with either NO or NOT YET.

Says, your son loves Potato Chips. And everyday, he asks you to buy a pack for him. He has been a good boy and you loves him more than anything or anyone else. Will you buy him Potato Chips daily? Unlikely because you don't want him to die early.

Elijah, prophet, once prayed and ask the Lord to take his life. He was so depressed that he ask God to kill him. But God is so loving that He refuse to answer Elijah's prayer. Elijah ended up translated to heaven without experience death.

Conclusion:

Keep praying! God loves to hear your prayer but please have in mind that God will only provides you THE BEST

Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Wa Si Hokkien Lang!

check this out: hokkienlang

"Wa kong wueh
Wu lang thia boh?"

I honestly really have a hard time trying to read those post. But funnie leh... :)

I remember one incident when I volunteered in the Penang Adventist Hospital last year. In ER. There is one old sweet lady ask me to help her to walk to the toilet. But she conversed with me in hokkien... which I know abit abit only. But then again, I really don't know what she trying to say. Charm lor.. but one phrase save my life:

"Auntie, sorry ah, wa bo shi hokkien lang, le kong shi mi, wo thia boh..."(~smile)

... and I called a Sabahan nurse which can converse well in Hokkien. (malu la saya.. orang cina, pernah tinggal Muar, tak tau bahasa hokkien..)

melancholy Christianity?

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Ps. 16:11

Some people (or not, many people) thinks that to accept Christ as our personal savior is means beginning of pain and difficulty in lives. Some, associate Christianity with persecution, hardship, sorrows, poverty and other "negative" sadness.

I have a chance to chat with one gentleman:

Me: The recently held youth camp (AYC) is cool. The speaker is powerful. I think you, you should be there.

Gentleman: I better not go there?

M: But, why?

G: I am afraid that, when I go there, I listen to the truth, I was touched by the massage and get baptize!

M:???

G: and if I get baptize, and become a Christian, I am bounded to live a perfect life and I will be encounter many sorrows.

_____________

Is it true that becoming a Christian, you will encounter many sorrows?

yes and no.

it is inevitable that this world is full of sorrow. The most evil guy in this world also face difficulty and hardship. This is because, teruk la, the world is under the spell of sin. Means that, from the very beginning, human choose to rebel against God, and choose to learn the hard way.

But the good news is, the loving God, have a plan out. That is where Christianity comes in, where you are NOT ALONE, God will be with you going through whatever suffering you will be facing.

Inspiration tell us:

Do not think that when you walk with Jesus you must walk in the shadow. The happiest people in the world are those who trust in Jesus and gladly do His bidding. From the lives of those who follow Him, unrest and discontent are banished. . . . They may meet with trial and difficulty,
but their lives are full of joy; for Christ walks beside them, and His presence makes the pathway bright. . . .

Using common sense and some basic calculation, I suggest you to accept the Jesus as your personal Savior as He is all ready to be with you to meet the coming trial and difficulty! and the best, it is free for all!

Jesus=Christ=God=Savior=Jesus Christ

Her name is call AIBO. I saw her in KLCC today. Hey, she is briliant. I mean relatively briliant. Her behaviour is adorable and she seems to know how to play her bone well. She also seems to have feelings.

However, she is abit....slow. ( okay, I know I am contradicting myself) She was intelligent, but her respond was so slow. Really mentally retarded.

Who will buy this kind of pet? I mean, when you know she is sterile!

end of all sorrows?

..not really, its a beginning of all sorrows.

After a (long and hard) year of preparation for the CMC enterance examination, today, I (or rather we- Jiwan, Geok Huey ,and myself) , finally, ended our agony by sitting the examination in SAUM, Singapore.

The exam consist of 2 sections, the 1st test on the 3 science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) subjects and the 2nd test on IQ.

The on 1st part, there are 180 questions, 60 questions on each subjects and is given 2 hours to complete the test. While the 2nd part,IQ , 120 questions. It is a marathon. Finish all non-stop.

Its started off cool. I just love the whole setting. Before entering the exam "hall", Pastor Simon, a Gentleman (forgot his name), Pr Jansen prayed for us, also join with Dr Sally Phoon and Ms Debbie. I felt encouraged.

It is nice right? to be part in the large family of God. Where you know, people are praying for you, supporting you where ever you go.

I am so glad, I am a part of God large family. and y dont you?

ps: my sister, Persis and ex-schoolmate, Hui koon also completed their semester final examination.

Wire to heaven

Luk 11:11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

Mat 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Humans were born doubters. The bible has made it clear that if only we ask God, (a.k.a. prayer) He is ready to help us. Alas, many are in trouble and in need but they refuse to ask the Lord. Many feel hopeless; many feel discourage; many are tired with life; many attempted suicide. But this should not and would not be happening if just we learn to pray to God.

God is love, the bible says. He made many promises in the bible that if just we ask, He will provide. If just we ask in His name, He will not hesitate to give. Yes, He is all ready to give all His best to us till a point of willingly to let the One and Only Jesus to die as a result of our transgression.

Do you think God is deaf to your prayers? Common sense says: No!

---------------

Some time ago, I felt impressed to pray for CK. CK did not know Jesus and I did not get a chance to share how Jesus loves him more than his GF. I didn’t imagine, CK will accept Jesus as his only hope and Saviour. I just simply tell God about CK. Guess what, after few months, CK sms me that he is a Christian.

BJ, about 2 years old, makes noise in church which actually disturbs the congregation. I share this problem to God. (cut story short), BJ became obedient.

I am not lying. There are many more stories to tell how, when I ask God, He answers.

I am not a prophet. I am not a holy man. I am not a church leader. I am not any miracle making man. I am just a sinner, down-to-earth human who makes mistake. But I ask. And God cares to listen. He answers according to His super keng wisdom.

If He listens to a sinner’s (my) prayer, I am sure He also listens to you… only if you ask.

Don't ridicule your hardworking friends

"Enough la.. dont study too hard"
"Wah.. so rajin.."
"Study.. study..study... go yum char la...."

or

Q: How you got such a good result? sure study very hard one...
A( try to be humble): no la... I always watch TV and play Star craft every day..

Sounds familiar? well, I used to said that to my friends and I am now into the habit of doing it. I been so mean and I am now regretting for uttering such discourage words to my own beloved friends.

There is nothing wrong to work hard, study and do all your best in your examination. There is nothing wrong sacrificing yum char time, going for movie, etc because exam/ test is around the corner. That doesn't mean that you are nerd or geek but it just shows that you are responsible.

I also have a problem with some good students who deny that they studied very hard and emphasis that they play all the time. They might be telling the "truth", but by telling that to their fellow weaker friends, they do them no good but to harm them. What is wrong by encourage your fellow friends to study hard?

Instead say this:

"Buddy, thank you for showing such a good example to me for being so hardworking"

or

Q: How you do so well in ***** examination? sure study very hard one...
A: I give to God all the glory. He taught me to work hard for it. I am sure you can excel too if you....etc.

God Bless.

left or wrong?

My dad once told me a joke. I do not really know where he learn that joke from.

A: In every right, there is wrong and in every good, there is bad. Therefore, there is no such thing as absolutely Right and no such thing as absolutely Wrong.

Dad: Do you think that is absolutely right?

"UNIFY!", says the Benedict

The newly elected pope, Pope Benedict XVI determines to unify all Christians. To unify Christians doesn't mean unite members within the Catholic Church. He doesn't mean that the Catholic members are in great disagreement or conflict! No! He wants to the all Christian -- the Methodist, the Baptist, Charismatic, Lutherans... You name it.

Please read the book The Great Controversy (GC), Chapter 35 before you proceed. MUST READ, in order to understand what I am trying to say.
Let me quote to you the 1st paragraph:

Romanism is now regarded by Protestants with far greater favor than in former years. In those countries where Catholicism is not in the ascendancy, and the papists are taking a conciliatory course in order to gain influence, there is an increasing indifference concerning the doctrines that separate the reformed churches from the papal hierarchy; the opinion is gaining ground that, after all, we do not differ so widely upon vital points as has been supposed, and that a little concession on our part will bring us into a better understanding with Rome. The time was when Protestants placed a high value upon the liberty of conscience which had been so dearly purchased. They taught their children to abhor popery and held that to seek harmony with Rome would be disloyalty to God. But how widely different are the sentiments now expressed!

Here are some of the except from the press, news, media:

Pope Benedict XVI on Wednesday pledged to work to unify all Christians!

To unify is his main agenda. He said his "primary task" would be to work to reunify all Christians and that sentiment alone was not enough.

The message was clearly designed to show that Benedict was intent on following many of the groundbreaking paths charted by John Paul, who had made reaching out to other religions and trying to heal the 1,000-year-old schism in Christianity a hallmark of his pontificate.

"I too ... want to affirm with decisive willingness to follow in the commitment of carrying out the Second Vatican Council, in the wake of my predecessors and in faithful continuity with the 2,000-year-old tradition of the church," he said

It was a sign of John Paul's charismatic legacy looming over the new pontiff, who is described by people who know him as intellectual, cultured and rather reserved.

Pope John Paul II did a very good job by making friends and reconciling with the protestant and rest of the world. He is been once celebrated as the Most traveled Pope in history. Making friends was his aim. He even apologizes on behalf of the church for what the church had done during the dark ages just as predicted in Prophecy. And now, after making friends Pope Benedict XVI will do the unification.... and we will see what will be next... just keep watching...and of course praying!

Want to win a Nobel Prize?

This is cool! I found this except from this website: http://www.pickle-publishing.com/papers/jeremiah-films/video-3.htm#121

Unfortunately, only reader of EGW's book understands these cool statements.

Want to win a Nobel Prize?

1. Find a concept in Ellen White's writings that sounds medically absurd, but that if proven true would benefit humanity.

2. Find a way to prove it.

3. Get ridiculed for proposing such a ludicrous idea.

4. Wait awhile.

5. Collect your prize.

It's that simple.

Graphophobia

I really admire people who can write well. It is very depressing when I love to express myself through writing but fear to write. Not only my command of English is poor, I lack of confidence. When I stare at blank white paper ( or blank screen) the feeling of fear just overwhelms me. I don't know which word to start off, or which point to begin. Worst, I feel pressured or afraid of any grammar cops criticizing about my writing or maybe, laughing behind my back on how lousy my sentences were.

My classmates could write better, my friends could write better, my cousins could write better, my sister could writes better. And me.....~sigh...WILL write better!!!
